General rules - Breaking these rules can and will get you banned!
The biggest rule -> Enjoy your time here. Join in, share, and have fun!
Do not defy the moderators expressed wishes!
Do not insult the staff. They are unpaid volunteers who give time and effort to make your stay here a nice one and make the site run as smooth as possible.
No Multiple Accounts! One account per person, per IP address. No exceptions.
Do not upload our .torrent files to other trackers! You WILL be banned! (See the FAQ for details.)
You will only get one warning! After that it's bye bye Kansas!!
|
Downloading rules - By not following these rules you will lose download privileges!
The minimum ratio is 0.5. This means that you are expected to give back half of what you have downloaded, which is not a lot to ask. Even though 0.5 is the minimum we expect from you, please try and upload as much as you can which will allow you to download more. An ideal ratio to have is 1.5.
The minimum ratio for VIP's is 0.4. VIP's are also subject to warnings and banning if they go below their minimum and do not try to improve it.
Access to torrents is conditional on a good ratio! (See the FAQ for details.)
For low ratios, the site incorporates an auto-warn and ban system. Once ratio warned, you have two weeks to improve your ratio. If you don't, the system will ban you. Whilst in ratio warning, the only .torrent files you can download are for the films you've completed. This will enable you to keep seeding them and push your ratio up if someone downloads. |

Avatar Guidelines - Please try to follow these guidelines
The allowed formats are .gif, .jpg and .png.
Be considerate. Resize your images to a width of 150 px and a size of no more than 150 KB. (Browsers will rescale them anyway: smaller images will be expanded and will not look good; larger images will just waste bandwidth and CPU cycles.) For now this is just a guideline but it will be automatically enforced in the near future.
If your avatar is an animated gif, please resize it to under 150x150 pixels. A tutorial for this, is here.
Do not use potentially offensive material involving porn, religious material, animal / human cruelty or ideologically charged images. Mods have wide discretion on what is acceptable. If in doubt PM one. |
Uploading rules - Torrents violating these rules may be deleted without notice
Can I Upload to ILC?
Yes, any member of ILC can upload a .torrent file here. Just read the upload rules below and you'll be fine.
Not Allowed
Movies or TV series released after 1986.
Biographical movies released after 1986.
Pornographic content. Sex in a legitimate movie is fine but made to be porn movies are not.
Music Videos.

Torrent contents in a compressed state. rar, zip etc (compressed subtitles are allowed).
More than one movie or TV series in a torrent (i.e. No Mega Torrents).
Do not upload anything with a screen size meant for a portable device, such as an iPod. We want quality, not portability.

Anything else that is classic film or TV related, released before 1987.
Do not upload anything that is not classic film or TV related.
If in doubt on whether it will be allowed, pm a member of staff and ask.
Duplicates
Search the torrents first to make sure you are not uploading a duplicate. A file size of 200mb size difference from ones already on site is not considered a duplicate.
A different riptype to ones already here is not considered a dupe.
Dupe files are deleted by staff so don't waste your time by not searching first!
Add Private Tracker Flag
When you create the .torrent file in your client, Private Tracker MUST be selected! Only this sites tracker address may be used. Any 3rd party trackers are automatically removed by the system.
Encoding Information
All Video and audio uploads must contain file encoding information at the bottom of the torrent decription. Use MediaInfo, Gspot, or any other encoding info tool .
The minimum encoding info we expect is: video frame size, video bitrate, audio bitrate, video and audio codec. e.g. Xvid video + Mp3 audio. Read below for tutorial link
Screen Shots and Images
All video uploads must have at least 1 screen shot taken from the video you are uploading. The screen shot must be the same resolution as the video image size. It must not contain an image of the film titles. This is so members can get a better idea of what they are getting.
Do not hot link images from other sites. Only use picture hosting sites such as photobucket.com/imageshack.us.
Torrent Name
This is the name you give the torrent at ILC, not the .torrent file you made.
All upload titles must be in this format: Title (Year)Whatever(RipType)(*username).
The title must be the original title from the films country of origin. e.g. For a Few Dollars More must be called Per qualche dollaro in pił. For a Few Dollars More can be put in the Whatever section of the name.
If uploading a TV show, Only one series/season maximum per torrent.
Specify in the title which episodes are included in this format; (S01E01-S01E12), (Episode 1), (Series 1), (Season 1).
Example: Ironside (1967)(Series 1)(DVDRip)
Everything in Red is mandatory.
In the Whatever segment, you may put what you like. Star names, director etc.
* You may put Your username at the end of the title in brackets, if it is your own rip. You may also put your username there to credit yourself for the upload, but be sure to state that it is not your rip in the description, if that is the case.
The brackets (), are not optional. A uniform approach to torrent names makes it easy for everyone to see what is on on offer globally over the site.
Riptypes can be:
ISO (dvd image file)
BRISO (Blue ray disc image file)
DVD5 (vobs, video_ts etc. Direct copy of a 4.7GB DVD with any disc protection removed)
DVD9 (vobs, video_ts etc. Direct copy of a 8.5GB DVD with any disc protection removed)
DVDrip (dvd ripped to Xvid, DivX etc)
VHSRip (original source material was a vhs tape)
DTVrip (Digital TV Rip: satellite, cable)
HDtvRip (Ripped from Digital High Definition TV source)
BRRip (Xvid/DivX re-rip of a previous 1080p Blue Ray rip (mkv etc). Usually in 720p)
BDRip (Direct rip of a Blue Ray disc. Generally to an mkv container in 1080p)
URip (Unknown rip type. Commonly used when you downloaded it off the web and don't know the source). If you don't know the riptype, URip Must be specified.
Give Credit Where Credit is Due
If you downloaded your film from the web, give credit to the original ripper or person responsible for uploading it (if this is known). If the file was from a file host, such a Rapidshare, mention the site name where you found the links in the credits also. You would like to be credited too if you found your rip on another site!
Sharing Etiquette
Do not stop seeding until someone else has 100% of your torrent. It is bad manners to make people wait so long when you switch your pc off and go to work/bed. If you cannot do this, do not upload.
Uploader Status
If you are of Uploader status, stay active! You risk being demoted if you don't upload. An absolute minimum of 2 torrents per week is expected from each Uploader. If you are going to be away, have problems, or any other reason why you cannot upload, let staff know via pm.
ILC is always looking for new quality uploaders. If you wish to apply for uploader status, pm a staff member with details of what kind of stuff you have to upload. Only serious and well written pm's will be considered.
Summary
All Torrent names on ILC must adhere to the Torrent Naming Rules mentioned above.

Most of the info is imported with our IMDb script, but look out for no plot or other info, and add where necessary.
1. Director name
2. Plot
3. Cast List (main stars minimum. Full cast list preferred)
4. IMDb Link (to the movie or tv show page at the IMDb). If not Available, a link to Amazon or anywhere else that gives details about it.
5. If the spoken language of the film is not English, the language MUST be specified in the description.
6. File Encoding Information (The tutorial is Here).
7. At least 1 non-titles screen shot is mandatory. The screen shot must be the same resolution as the film you are uploading (the tutorial is Here).
Other pictures, such as more screen shots, posters, lobby cards etc, are up to the uploaders own choice.
If in doubt about anything, ask a mod or post in the forum.
If your torrent fails the Moderator check, it cannot be downloaded. You will have 48 hours to fix whatever the Moderator told you to fix. If not done within that time, it will be deleted from the site. |
